The Botanical Design Collective Summer Camp is a one-week immersive program for kids and teens ages 10–16, located in Downtown Jersey City.
In partnership with local plant shop PLNTD, campers will explore the art of plant care and design while creating their own living works of art. Using traditional Japanese techniques like kokedama (moss ball planting), campers will design moss gardens, learn about plant biology, sustainability, and mindful gardening practices. This hands-on week blends creativity, nature, and culture as children nurture plants from start to finish and take home beautiful, living creations.
Instructor from PLNTD, a local botanical shop, will lead campers in plant design, care, and eco-friendly art.
Note: Activities are not limited to those listed above.
Campers will bring home their own herb garden box, custom succulent bowl, and handcrafted kokedama moss ball, living projects they’ll continue to nurture.
Along the way, they’ll gain real-world skills in plant care, sustainable gardening, and creative botanical design.

Kokedama is a Japanese traditional plant art, where instead of planting in a pot roots are wrapped around soil, shaped in a ball and covered in moss. It is a safe and accessible process for all children.
We are currently accepting applications for Preschool through High School at our Englewood, Jersey City Downtown, and Jersey City The Heights campuses.
We offer a nurturing, bilingual, and academically strong environment where students are supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.
