At The French American Academy, your children, our students, will be immersed in an international environment, surrounded by a diverse community of cultures, languages, concepts, and ideas, which will challenge them to explore the world from a global perspective. Our goal is to educate our students as citizens of the world, empowering them to embrace challenges and contribute to making the world a better place. During our 1hr in-person campus visits, you will:

During a 30 minute Virtual Information sessions, you will:

Information to Know Before Applying
Cutoff Date - Dec. 31st
At our French bilingual school in New Jersey, we adhere to the French cutoff date of December 31st. As a result, children born after October are eligible to enroll a year in advance.
Age Requirement
The earliest a student can enroll at The French American Academy is at 2 years and 6 months of age, in PreK-2.
You Don't Need to Speak French to Enroll
French knowledge is not a requirement to enter Preschool or Kindergarten.
Starting in 1st grade, we offer an International Track in both Elementary and Middle School for students with no prior knowledge of French. Strong English language skills and a willingness to learn are required, as the program is academically rigorous and fast-paced. Students who are bilingual or demonstrate strong language aptitude are considered strong candidates for the program.
Potty-Training
Children entering PreK-3 are required to be potty trained, but it is not required for PreK-2.
Recommendation Form & Report Card
We require parents to provide us with a teacher’s recommendation if a student attended a previous preschool or daycare. Starting from 1st grade, we also require report cards at our French bilingual school in new jersey.

Science Outdoors! 🌿🔬
Our 9th graders stepped out of the lab and into nature for an immersive field biology experience!
During their recent field trip, students became real-world researchers, conducting hands-on species surveys to estimate and analyze biodiversity across different ecosystems.
Here is how they put their scientific inquiry into action:
📋 Scientific Methods: Students utilized professional field techniques to accurately sample, identify, and catalog various living organisms.
🌍 Ecosystem Comparison: By exploring different habitats, they gathered critical data to compare how biodiversity shifts from one environment to the next.

Dive into the magic of bilingual learning! ✨
Today, we are stepping into our Kindergarten classroom for a special look at a co-taught Bilingual Comparative Grammar class with Chloe and Klarrizze!
But what exactly is comparative grammar, especially for our youngest learners? 🤔
In a bilingual setting, comparative grammar means looking at French and English side-by-side using a color and shape code.
Instead of learning each language in total isolation, students are guided to actively notice the similarities and differences between the two.
For example, they might discover how word order changes (like saying "the blue car" in English vs. "la voiture bleue" in French) or spot words that share similar sounds and meanings as well as understand feminine and masculine.
By comparing the rules and patterns of both languages, our Kindergarteners develop a much deeper understanding of how language works.
It boosts their cognitive flexibility, strengthens their problem-solving skills, and helps them become more confident, fluent bilingual speakers! 🧠💡
With Chloe and Klarrizze teaming up, our students get the absolute best of both worlds in one dynamic, seamless, and fun lesson.

Our 9th-grade Job Shadowing Week over! 🏢💼
Our team stopped by to visit some of our students in action, and we are so impressed by the real-world skills they are already gaining!
Take Samir, for example!
He is spending his week at Hair is Happiness. His host shared that he has been incredibly engaged, in just two days, he learned what it takes to build a business from the ground up, studied color theory, and even got hands-on experience by completing his very first haircut! ✂️👏
Meanwhile, our other 9th graders are diving into a wide range of exciting industries across NJ and NYC.
From culinary arts, fashion, and retail, to local non-profits and international diplomacy at the French Consulate, they are learning from the best!
