Englewood Transportation

Bus

New Jersey Transit (NJT) is the primary provider of public transportation in Englewood and the wider New Jersey area. NJT provides regular bus service in and out of Englewood, with several routes offering direct links to major destinations such as the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. This makes it a convenient option for those who work or frequently travel to New York City.

 

Train Service

While Englewood itself does not have a rail station, nearby rail services are easily accessible. The closest rail station is in Teterboro, which is part of NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley Line. It offers regular service to Hoboken, where commuters can transfer to the PATH for service into Manhattan.

 

Getting to NYC from Englewood

New Jersey Transit Bus

Getting from Englewood, NJ to New York City (NYC) can be done easily through the New Jersey Transit bus system

Route 166: The duration of the journey varies depending on traffic but generally takes between 40 minutes to 1 hour. You can catch the 166 bus from various stops in Englewood, including the Englewood Hospital, Palisade Ave at Engle St, or any other stop along its route through Englewood. The bus will take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. 

Route 186: The ride on the 186 bus from Englewood to the George Washington Bridge Bus Station also varies based on traffic but is typically between 20 to 30 minutes. This bus takes you to the George Washington Bridge Bus Station in Upper Manhattan.
