She studied Language Sciences and French as a Foreign Language for five years at university, and later taught French in France as well as in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

During this time, she developed a strong interest in supporting the most vulnerable students in her classes, which led her to earn a specialized teaching qualification. She held this position for five years before joining the FAA.
