Remplir une demande en ligne

Des frais de candidature non remboursables de 140 $ sont dus par candidature. Pour les élèves qui fréquentent déjà une garderie ou une école, nous demanderons qu’un formulaire de recommandation soit rempli.

L'Interview d'Admission

Le directeur des admissions accusera réception de votre candidature en ligne et organisera ensuite un entretien privé avec les parents et l’enfant.

Au cours de l’entretien, vous rencontrerez le directeur des admissions et le directeur de l’école pour déterminer si les valeurs, les objectifs et les attentes scolaires de l’école conviennent à votre enfant.

Ce format vous permettra de poser les questions que vous souhaitez. Selon l’âge de votre enfant, il peut rester avec vous, rejoindre l’une de nos classes ou rencontrer notre coordinateur pédagogique.

Notification de décision

Le directeur des admissions vous informera de la décision par e-mail, au plus tard fin février. Après cela, ce sera au fur et à mesure.

High School Launch! Accepting Grade 9 Applications

Jersey City’s ONLY IB Candidate* High School

We are excited to announce the opening of our High School and are now accepting applications for Grade 9. Our High School welcomes students of all levels of French proficiency, from those with no prior knowledge of French to native speakers. The French American Academy is a Candidate School* for the Middle Years Program. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that FAA believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.

Requirements

Preschool & Kindergarten

Pre-K2 Must be 2.5 years old by their first school day.
Pre-K3

Must be 3 years old by December 31st.

Children entering Pre-K3 and up must be potty-trained by their first day of school.

Pre-K4 Must be 4 years old by December 31st.
Kindergarten Must be 5 years old by December 31st.

 

Elementary & Middle School

  • Students enrolling in 1st to 8th Grades must speak French to join the bilingual track.

  • Starting in 1st grade, we offer an Accelerated French Program (AFP) in both Elementary and Middle School for students with no prior knowledge of French. Strong English language skills and a willingness to learn are required, as the program is academically rigorous and fast-paced. Students who are bilingual or demonstrate strong language aptitude are considered strong candidates for the program.

High School

  • Our High School welcomes Grade 9 students of all levels of French proficiency, ranging from those with no prior French knowledge to native speakers.

Admissions Calendar for the Academic Year of 2025-26: Key Dates

We encourage families to submit applications as soon as possible, as spots in some grades will fill up fast.

Families can apply through one of three routes: Standard Applications, Quick Acceptance Applications, or Late Applications.

  • Deadline to send complete application: Friday, January 17th, 2025
  • Decision notification: Decisions will be sent no later than Friday, February 14th, 2025.
  • Deadline for submission of the enrollment form and payment of the deposit is 2 weeks after receiving the decision notification.
  • Parents whose child is accepted but prefers to wait before committing to The French American Academy will be placed on our waiting list.

The child’s seat is only guaranteed with the submission of the enrollment form and the payment of the deposit.

  • Ready to commit and looking for a fast decision?
  • Submit your application along with all the required documentation, schedule a meeting with the Division Head and Admissions Director, and get a response within two weeks.
  • If accepted, you have two weeks to finalize the enrollment and pay the deposit to secure your seat. deposit to secure your seat.
  • Quick Acceptance is currently only offered for PK2 and PK3 grades.
  • After January 17, 2025, late applications are welcome on a rolling basis. We encourage parents to submit their applications promptly: the earlier we receive your complete application, the greater your chance of enrolling for the requested school year.
  • These applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis: our team will process them and ensure they are complete and ready for late acceptance. 
  • Once your application is submitted, you will be invited to a family interview with the Division Head and Admissions Director. 
  • Depending on the grade, your child may either be accepted or placed on a waiting list:
    • If accepted: to secure your seat, you will have two weeks to accept the offer and finalize the enrollment (including paying the deposit).
    • If placed on the waiting list: as soon as a seat becomes available, we will inform you and send you the enrollment form.

At our Open House, you'll have the opportunity to gain insights into our educational philosophy and curriculum for Preschool through 9th Grade from our Head of School, school directors, and teachers. You'll also be able to interact with our dedicated teachers and tour our classrooms. Additionally, interactive workshops will be offered, providing a firsthand experience of FAA's unique approach to bilingual education. Refreshments will be served.

Admissions FAQ

  • 2,5 ans au 31 décembre de l’année où ils entrent dans le programme TPS.

Le processus d’admission pour 2023-24 est actuellement ouvert. Nous vous recommandons vivement de soumettre votre candidature le plus tôt possible, car le directeur des admissions informera les candidats de sa décision par e-mail au plus tard fin février 2023. Après cette date, les candidatures seront examinées au fur et à mesure.

Le processus de candidature pour 2024-25 s’ouvrira au cours de l’été 2023.

Pour les classes TPS, PS, MS et GS, nous accueillons les enfants avec ou sans connaissance du français. Nos cours sont soigneusement équilibrés pour inclure des locuteurs parlant couramment, des enfants sans français et une gamme de niveaux intermédiaires.

Du CP à la 4ème, nous proposons un programme de français accéléré pour les non-francophones et une filière bilingue pour les élèves connaissant le français.
