À la French American Academy, vos enfants, nos élèves, évoluent dans un environnement international, au cœur d’une communauté riche de cultures, de langues, d’idées et de perspectives. Nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer l’ouverture de notre Lycée et l’ouverture des inscriptions pour la classe de 3ᵉ (Grade 9). Notre Lycée accueille des élèves de tous niveaux en français : aussi bien ceux qui n’ont jamais étudié la langue que des locuteurs natifs.
La French American Academy est une école candidate* pour le Programme d’éducation intermédiaire (MYP). Elle poursuit actuellement la démarche d’autorisation pour devenir une école du monde IB. Ces écoles partagent une philosophie commune : un engagement envers une éducation internationale de haute qualité, exigeante et ouverte sur le monde, valeur essentielle à la FAA pour former ses élèves.
* Seules les écoles autorisées par l’Organisation du Baccalauréat International (IB) peuvent proposer l’un de ses quatre programmes académiques : le Programme primaire (PYP), le Programme d’éducation intermédiaire (MYP), le Programme du diplôme (DP) ou le Programme à orientation professionnelle (CP). Cutoff Date - Dec. 31st
A la FAA, nous suivons la date de référence française du 31 décembre. Ainsi, les enfants nés après le mois d’octobre peuvent s’inscrire avec une année d’avance.
Âge Minimum
L’inscription à la French American Academy se fait au plus tôt à l’âge de 2 ans et 6 mois, en Toute Petite Section (Prek2).
Vous n'avez pas besoin de parler français pour vous inscrire
La connaissance du français n’est pas obligatoire pour entrer à l’école maternelle. A partir du CP, nous proposons un programme accéléré de français (AFP) pour les enfants n’ayant aucune connaissance préalable du français. Après 3 ans dans le programme AFP, les élèves rejoignent la filière bilingue.
La Propreté
Les enfants entrant en Petite Section (PreK3-4) doivent être formés à la propreté, ce qui n’est pas le cas pour la Toute Petite Section (PreK2).
Formulaire de recommandation et bulletin de notes
Nous demandons aux parents de nous fournir une recommandation de l’enseignant si l’élève a déjà été scolarisé dans un établissement scolaire ou une garderie. À partir du CP, nous demandons également les bulletins scolaires.

Nos enseignants ont un minimum de 3+ années d’expérience, un diplôme de master. Tous nos enseignants Français sont diplomés du Ministère de l’Education Nationale. Tous nos enseignants des cours en Anglais sont de langue maternelle anglaise.

Dive into the magic of bilingual learning! ✨
Today, we are stepping into our Kindergarten classroom for a special look at a co-taught Bilingual Comparative Grammar class with Chloe and Klarrizze!
But what exactly is comparative grammar, especially for our youngest learners? 🤔
In a bilingual setting, comparative grammar means looking at French and English side-by-side using a color and shape code.
Instead of learning each language in total isolation, students are guided to actively notice the similarities and differences between the two.
For example, they might discover how word order changes (like saying "the blue car" in English vs. "la voiture bleue" in French) or spot words that share similar sounds and meanings as well as understand feminine and masculine.
By comparing the rules and patterns of both languages, our Kindergarteners develop a much deeper understanding of how language works.
It boosts their cognitive flexibility, strengthens their problem-solving skills, and helps them become more confident, fluent bilingual speakers! 🧠💡
With Chloe and Klarrizze teaming up, our students get the absolute best of both worlds in one dynamic, seamless, and fun lesson.

Our 9th-grade Job Shadowing Week over! 🏢💼
Our team stopped by to visit some of our students in action, and we are so impressed by the real-world skills they are already gaining!
Take Samir, for example!
He is spending his week at Hair is Happiness. His host shared that he has been incredibly engaged, in just two days, he learned what it takes to build a business from the ground up, studied color theory, and even got hands-on experience by completing his very first haircut! ✂️👏
Meanwhile, our other 9th graders are diving into a wide range of exciting industries across NJ and NYC.
From culinary arts, fashion, and retail, to local non-profits and international diplomacy at the French Consulate, they are learning from the best!

Our PK4 B class found the most creative way to celebrate the end of the school year!
To mark the occasion, they hopped on a fun social media trend and drew their class symbol: a beautiful rainbow! 🌈✨🌈
It was the perfect way to honor their incredible year-long learning journey, say a bittersweet farewell to PK4, and celebrate their exciting future as they get ready for Kindergarten!

Here is a peek at where the students are spending their week learning the ropes:
🥐 Culinary Arts & Food Industry: Lumi is learning the daily operations at Choc O Pain, and Charlie is seeing the behind-the-scenes at White Toque!
👗 Fashion & Retail: Briella traveled to NYC to shadow at Intradeco Apparel, while Krish is working locally at WORD Bookstore, and Melina is exploring the world of floristry at Bouquets & Baskets!
💇♀️ Local Business & Arts: Samir is spending time at Hair is Happiness, and Noemie is diving into the creative world at Nimbus Arts Center!
🏛️ Diplomacy & Non-Profits: Anthime is getting a firsthand look at international relations at the French Consulate in NYC, and Makenzie is shadowing at the global advocacy organization, Global Citizen!
In addition to their individual host companies, many of our students also participated in special group seminars, gaining valuable insights from local entrepreneurs, founders, and real estate developers including meeting Paul Silverman from @silvermanbuilding. A huge thank you to him!

Storytime just got a whole lot more interactive! 🥢📖
We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming children`s author Anna Park to our Englewood campus for a very special visit!
Anna read her wonderful book, Nabi Tries Chopsticks, to our students, but the fun didn`t stop at the final page.
The children also participated in a hands-on chopstick training session and even learned a catchy song to help them master the technique!
To top it all off, every student received their very own chopstick trainer as a special gift from Anna so they can keep practicing at home.
Thank you, Anna, for such a memorable, engaging, and delicious learning experience! ✨
