Lancement du Lycée ! Inscriptions ouvertes pour la 3ᵉ (Grade 9)
Le seul lycée IB Candidate de Jersey City
Nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer l’ouverture de notre Lycée et l’ouverture des inscriptions pour la classe de 3ᵉ (Grade 9). Notre Lycée accueille des élèves de tous niveaux en français : aussi bien ceux qui n’ont jamais étudié la langue que des locuteurs natifs.
La French American Academy est une école candidate* pour le Programme d’éducation intermédiaire (MYP). Elle poursuit actuellement la démarche d’autorisation pour devenir une école du monde IB. Ces écoles partagent une philosophie commune : un engagement envers une éducation internationale de haute qualité, exigeante et ouverte sur le monde, valeur essentielle à la FAA pour former ses élèves.
* Seules les écoles autorisées par l’Organisation du Baccalauréat International (IB) peuvent proposer l’un de ses quatre programmes académiques : le Programme primaire (PYP), le Programme d’éducation intermédiaire (MYP), le Programme du diplôme (DP) ou le Programme à orientation professionnelle (CP). Cutoff Date - Dec. 31st
A la FAA, nous suivons la date de référence française du 31 décembre. Ainsi, les enfants nés après le mois d’octobre peuvent s’inscrire avec une année d’avance.
Âge Minimum
L’inscription à la French American Academy se fait au plus tôt à l’âge de 2 ans et 6 mois, en Toute Petite Section (Prek2).
Vous n'avez pas besoin de parler français pour vous inscrire
La connaissance du français n’est pas obligatoire pour entrer à l’école maternelle. A partir du CP, nous proposons un programme accéléré de français (AFP) pour les enfants n’ayant aucune connaissance préalable du français. Après 3 ans dans le programme AFP, les élèves rejoignent la filière bilingue.
La Propreté
Les enfants entrant en Petite Section (PreK3-4) doivent être formés à la propreté, ce qui n’est pas le cas pour la Toute Petite Section (PreK2).
Formulaire de recommandation et bulletin de notes
Nous demandons aux parents de nous fournir une recommandation de l’enseignant si l’élève a déjà été scolarisé dans un établissement scolaire ou une garderie. À partir du CP, nous demandons également les bulletins scolaires.

Nos enseignants ont un minimum de 3+ années d’expérience, un diplôme de master. Tous nos enseignants Français sont diplomés du Ministère de l’Education Nationale. Tous nos enseignants des cours en Anglais sont de langue maternelle anglaise.

Earlier this fall, FAA students laced up their sneakers for the Spirit Run. The challenge? Parents pledged a donation per lap, and our students took that challenge seriously!
To every parent who supported this (and paid for all those energetic laps!): Thank you.
We are proud to divide this amount evenly between two worthy causes. We are sending $11,667 to Konekte (@konekteprincetonhaiti) to support their vital work in education and community support in Haiti. 🇭🇹📚
We celebrated this achievement during a Thanksgiving lunch sponsored by our wonderful PTO, where students learned exactly how far this money will go to help those in need.

We are thrilled to announce that our annual Spirit Run raised a grand total of $23,334!
We are splitting these funds equally between two incredible partners. That means we are donating $11,667 to the @georgiebadielfoundation!
A massive thank you to our parents who pledged "per lap." We know you didn`t know exactly what the final number would be, but your children ran their hearts out to make sure every dollar counted.

We celebrated this success during our Thanksgiving lunches – where we were honored to welcome Georgie Badiel herself.
She shared moving stories about how these funds will provide access to clean drinking water and sanitation for communities in Burkina Faso.

What an incredible day at FAA! 🍂✨
Our hearts (and bellies!) are full after a busy, joyful day across our Englewood and Jersey City campuses.
We kicked things off this morning with a very special visit from the inspiring Georgie Badiel! She visited both Englewood and JC Downtown to meet our students, answer their insightful questions, and read her books to them. It was truly wonderful to see her connect with the children – stay tuned, because we have much more content from her visit coming soon! 📚🧡
Next, we celebrated the season of gratitude with a delicious Thanksgiving lunch. A massive thank you to our Englewood PTO and JC Downtown PTO for organizing such a beautiful feast. It was a true moment of togetherness, made even more special as the Heights campus students joined the Downtown campus to share the meal and Englewood had a cozy gathering in the library! 🦃🍂
In Englewood, the celebration continued with music and art! We were lucky to hear the 4th and 5th graders perform two beautiful songs they practiced for Choralis, filling the halls with melody.
Plus, the Englewood students have been working hard decorating their classroom doors for the holidays. We can’t wait to show you the final results! 🎶🎨

Did You Know? What is Les Choralies?
It is a large-scale choral gathering that unites students from French-accredited schools across the New York/New Jersey area. The goal is to foster a sense of community among the schools through the universal language of music.
Students usually spend weeks practicing a shared repertoire of songs (often a mix of French variety, classical, and pop) so they can perform upon meeting at Baruch College.
