"Starting at 3 years old? It’s the ultimate language superpower!" 🧠
Welcome to Part 8 of our Parent Insight Series!
Today, we are chatting with Joseph, proud dad of Liam in PK3, about what it’s really like to start the bilingual journey at the very beginning of early childhood education.
For our youngest learners, stepping into a dual-language environment is a magical experience.
Joseph shares his perspective on why the early years at FAA are so impactful:
🧽 The Ultimate Sponge Phase: At 3 years old, children don`t just learn a language, they absorb it naturally through play, songs, and daily routines without even realizing it.
🏡 A Warm & Safe Soft Landing: How our nurturing preschool teachers create an environment that feels like a second home, making the transition to school seamless for both kids and parents.
🎶 Surprise Moments at Home: The joy of hearing your little one spontaneously singing French songs or naming objects in two languages around the house!
Giving your child a bilingual foundation from PK3 sets them up for a lifetime of cognitive flexibility and cultural openness.
Start Your Child`s Journey Early!
Spaces for our early childhood programs are filling fast.

"The community is what makes it truly special." 🌟🤝
Welcome back to Part 7 of our Parent Insight Series!
We are catching up once again with Michelle, mom of Tesfa, to ask her a very important question: What words of wisdom do you have for families just beginning their journey at the French American Academy?
Having been a part of the FAA family for years, Michelle`s advice is simple, warm, and encouraging:
🎒 Enjoy every moment: Michelle notes that looking back, the entire journey has been an incredibly wonderful and rewarding experience for her entire family.
🗣️ Watch them grow: While your children will naturally learn and pick up French, the academic growth is just one piece of a much larger puzzle.
💙 Embrace the community: The absolute heart of FAA is its people.
Michelle encourages new parents to dive right in, take the time to get to know the other families, connect deeply with the teachers, and fully participate in school life.
Starting a new school journey can feel like a big leap, but at FAA, you are stepping into a supportive, global village ready to welcome you with open arms.

Honoring history, celebrating freedom, and fostering global understanding. Happy Juneteenth! ✊🏾✨
Today at our Heights campus, our students gathered for a deeply meaningful 10:00 AM presentation: "Juneteenth: What It Means," led by our incredible guest speaker, Reginald Bennett Jr. (Reggie)!
Reggie is a phenomenal teaching artist, baritone vocalist, music educator, and doctoral researcher at Fordham University. Through his expertise in culturally responsive education, he brought history to life, giving our students a powerful and transformative look into the significance of this historic day.📜
What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas finally learned of their freedom, a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
It serves as a vital reminder of the hard-fought journey toward liberty and equality.
🌍 A Global Perspective:
As an international, bilingual community, we look at history through a global lens.
This day of reflection beautifully mirrors France’s own historical milestones, such as the Taubira Law (which recently marked its 25th anniversary), officially recognizing slavery as a crime against humanity.
Together, these shared histories remind our students of the immense importance of remembrance, education, and a continued, cross-border commitment to freedom, equity, and justice for all.
A massive thank you to Reggie for sharing his incredible insights, art, and wisdom with our school today! 🕊️❤️
