Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and individual student merit, determined from a range of criteria, including academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, and good citizenship.
Applications for French American Academy Scholarships will be considered on a non-discriminatory basis without regard to race, sex, or nationality. The selection of Scholars will be made at the sole discretion of the finance committee of the school’s Board of Directors.

Our enrichment program is one of the many ways we educate the whole child. We truly believe that to develop all of a child’s inner talents, they need to be exposed to new and different things all the time. The French American Academy offers programs for all children after the regular classes – a convenient alternative to finding programs at locations around the area. Whether your child is enrolled in our bilingual preschool in Jersey City or our elementary or middle school, we provide various activities to meet each grade level’s needs and interest.
Classes typically run from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm for our younger students in our preschool in Jersey City and for students in lower grades (PreK3 and PreK4 Cohort and K & 1st Grade Cohort) while extracurricular classes designed for 2nd grade & up run from 4:30 to 5:30 to allow our students to do their homework during Study Hall.
Our enrichment program includes not only sports activities such as basketball, soccer, tennis and rugby but also S.T.E.A.M oriented classes such as chess, board games, woodworking and engineering. It also often includes gymnastics, yoga or cooking as well as artistic classes such as Arts, music and dance.
Our enrichment program can be held in either English or French depending on the instructor. We usually include local after-school providers who come to our school to share their field expertise while giving a convenient opportunity to our busy parents.
When your child starts primary school at the French American Academy, they will receive a tee-shirt as a welcome gift which will be used for all field trips and to show our colors on any day and specifically during Spirit Day. While in school, students in our preschool in Jersey City do not wear uniforms.
You can re-order this tee-shirt on Land’s End website.

It develops a team spirit which is crucial when it comes to achieving something together. Also, a uniform means students don’t have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their clothes. When everyone is dressed the same, worrying about what you look like isn’t so important.
On Gym days, students will wear a sports uniform with the following items :
You can order the FAA tee-shirt or other uniform items at Lands End.

✨Yesterday’s Lunar New Year celebrations!✨
Lunar New Year at FAA was more than just a celebration – it was a chance for our students to immerse themselves in traditions, learn something new, and share meaningful moments together. 🎇🏮
From crafting lanterns and writing their names in Cantonese to decorating their classrooms and dressing in red for good luck, they embraced the spirit of the holiday. One of our students, Alina, even shared her family’s traditions with her classmates, bringing traditional food and leading a special
presentation. 🇨🇳🧧
These experiences help our students see the world through different perspectives, fostering curiosity, understanding, and a sense of global community.🌏
