We are proud to introduce the Aerospace & Engineering Club, a new opportunity for our middle and high school students at lunch time or afterschool.
Why aerospace and engineering?
Aviation and aerospace are among the fastest-growing global industries. According to workforce projections, aerospace and aviation-related careers are expected to grow faster than average over the next 20+ years, driven by advances in electric aircraft, drones, space technology, and sustainable transportation. The global aviation industry alone supports tens of millions of jobs worldwide, and many future roles have not yet been fully defined.
As technology continues to evolve, students with early exposure to engineering, problem-solving, and innovation will be better prepared to navigate these emerging fields.
What is it?
The Aerospace & Engineering Club offers students a hands-on introduction to aviation and aerospace in a collaborative, real-world setting. Through exploration and project-based learning, students begin to understand how technology, design, and entrepreneurship intersect in modern aerospace industries.
What students will do:
- Meet weekly in a student-driven innovation lab
- Explore topics such as airplanes, drones, eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft), airports, and aerospace startups
- Work collaboratively to turn curiosity and ideas into projects
What students will learn:
- How the aviation and aerospace industries operate today and where they are headed
- Career pathways in engineering, operations, business, design, and entrepreneurship
- How different disciplines work together to bring aerospace ideas to life
Who this club is for:
- Middle and high school students who are curious about aviation, technology, and innovation, and who enjoy hands-on, collaborative learning
Beyond the classroom:
Students and parents will have the opportunity to participate in a Saturday group visit to Princeton Airport to explore flight training and aircraft maintenance operations and see aerospace careers in action.
