7th Graders Organize a Coat Drive

By Caetano Hoffman, 7th Grade

Awareness of Refugees Situation

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, there are over 80 million refugees around the world. A refugee is a person who has to leave their home country because of political issues, war, or a natural disaster.

The French American Academy Students Took Action

This month the 7th graders organized a Coat Drive to help refugees living in Jersey City.

Amazing Results

The results were incredible. In one week we received 28 coats, 19 hats, 7 pairs of boots, 10 scarves, 21 pairs of gloves, and 2 pairs of snow pants.

All of the donations will go to Welcome Home Jersey City, a nonprofit organization that helps refugees in our community.

Thank You

To The French American Community community for supporting our event!
