On Saturday, May 18, FAA families, teachers, and administrators gathered for our much anticipated anniversary celebration. The event was held at 333 Grand at Liberty Harbor, with a lovely, misty view of the city at night. Along with a live DJ, entertainment was also provided by members of our community. Josephine Ancelle and Michael Browne (both music teachers at the Jersey City campus) kicked the evening off with a curated selection of French and American classics. Later in the evening, the singer and music educator (and parent of students at both our Englewood and JC campuses) Reginald Bennett Jr wowed the crowd with a performance showcasing his range as an operatic and hip-hop entertainer. After filling up on food and drink, and enjoying some anecdotes from school founders Anne-Sophie and Jean-François Gueguen, it was time to hit the dance floor and show off our moves!

The French American Academy owes much of its success and continuous growth to the involvement and passion of our families, whose work on the PTO brings us a continuous series of community events and treats throughout the year. Our school is special because of the strength of the connections among teachers, students, and parents – and these connections are constantly reinforced by events such as picnics at the start and end of the year, the Thanksgiving lunch, and this gala. We are so grateful to PTO head Wolsfie Spiz and her organized, dedicated team of parents who work so hard to transform our school into a true home for learning. Thank you!
