Fruitful Discussions
This month has been rich in exchanges with different famous authors: The K to 3rd graders virtually met Celine Lamour Crochet, who wrote the book ”Titouan le goëland”. The main character is a gull who lives on the coast of Brittany with a whole colony of gulls. Nothing differentiates him from the others, and yet… Titouan is the only seagull that can’t fly! The students participated in various art and writing workshops. One of the projects is to imagine and write the sequel to this book that will be published in the year. We can’t wait to find out!
Deep In The Ocean
The 1st and 3rd graders met with Lucie Brunellière on Zoom. She is the author of Deep In The Ocean – “La grande plongée” that won the Albertine prize in 2021. The classes studied the book last year and were thrilled to meet Lucie Brunellière virtually. The book tells the story of a scientific team that boards a submarine to explore the ocean’s depths.
Several workshops were offered where the illustrator guided the children to draw sea animals similar to those in the book. The students also prepared and asked questions about the book and the author. The exchange was fruitful!
