The French American Academy of Jersey City is about to make history as it becomes the first Candidate* International Baccalaureate (IB) High School in Jersey City. The school is excited to announce that its delivery of the IB Middle Years Program, with Grade 9 enrollments now open!
After 17 years of successfully educating younger students and with about 300 children currently enrolled, FAA’s downtown Jersey City campus is reaching capacity. Head of School Anne-Sophie Gueguen feels the time is right for expansion: “Our school is the heart of an internationally-minded community. Our philosophy and teaching practices have consistently attracted families with high educational aspirations and shared values. Now, we are ready to extend that community with an innovative High School that has the potential to redefine Jersey City’s educational landscape.”
The French American Academy has earned a reputation for academic excellence within a warm, close-knit community, welcoming students from diverse linguistic backgrounds—including approximately 35% of families from non-French-speaking households. This unique environment offers students a world-class education that combines academic rigor, bilingual subject choices, and global perspectives through a project-based, interdisciplinary teaching approach. The FAA will continue to leverage its strengths as a sustainable educational institution.
Families interested in joining this exciting journey are encouraged to express their interest promptly through the provided Expression of Interest Form and to attend the school’s upcoming Open House events.
